Director of Business Development
“Make each day your masterpiece.” – John Wooden
What do you do at Guardian Pharmacy of Wisconsin?
I have the privilege and opportunity to build relationships with community staff and residents throughout the states of Wisconsin and Illinois. Through this relationship building, the goal is to become pharmacy partners with the communities and provide exceptional pharmacy services to the residents who call these communities, home. Not only do the community staff and residents become partners, but they become part of our “family”. I also work directly with our management team to bridge the gap between the communities and the pharmacy staff. I work closely with our pharmacy teams to improve daily operations based on feedback from community staff and families.
What is your background?
I was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. Go Bucky! I attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and received a degree in Chemistry and Business Administration. While attending college, I found my love for pharmaceutical industry and worked as a technician at a retail pharmacy. After graduating, I worked for a short while at a Wisconsin based health insurance company and found myself gravitating towards the pharmacy side of the business. I made the decision to jump back into the pharmacy world and joined the Mallatt’s team (now Guardian Pharmacy of Wisconsin) in 2010. It was the best decision I ever made.
What are the values that drive you?
Empathy, Respect and Challenge.
We have a unique privilege to help care for residents who may not be able to advocate or care for themselves. This is something that weighs heavy on me every day and motivates me to perform at my highest level each day. Every action and decision we make influences the outcome of a situation and I want to ensure that the staff and especially the residents always have a positive outcome. The long-term care world is very complex and challenging in many ways. Most people don’t have knowledge about the key aspects of assisted living and long-term care. Being able to help families navigate the system and put their mind at ease is one of the most rewarding feelings.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
While not at work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My husband, son and brindle puppy reside in Wauwatosa and we love to explore the city! We enjoy going out to local restaurants, biking and kayaking. We live an active lifestyle and you can usually find us traveling on the weekends. Our travels have taken us to many places around the globe! Our favorite destination so far being Thailand. We are excited to introduce our son to the many cultures and experiences that traveling offers. We are season ticket holders for the University of Wisconsin Badger Volleyball team and have a love of all sports!
