Director of Pharmacy Operations
“I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day to day basis is my choice of attitude” – Chuck Swindoll
What do you do at Guardian Pharmacy of Wisconsin?
As the DPO, I am responsible for our pharmacy’s overall day-to-day operations. This includes focusing on the process to make certain all medications are properly filled and delivered on time. There are challenges, and most are addressed during the workday. Issues sometimes do not resolve in one working day, and that’s when it’s important to communicate with the facility or caregiver. Delays such as Rx clarification, insurance issues, and inventory are communicated with facilities and caregivers daily to ensure the best patient care.
What is your background?
I’m from Madison WI and started working at a local pharmacy when I was 16 years old. My career has been all pharmacy, but many non-traditional roles including working in manufacturing, logistics and IT. I’ve also had the privilege of working with our President Mike Flint twice (just 25 years apart).
What are the values that drive you?
It’s the same as the facilities we serve – “Take Care of the Patient”
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I do my best to find time for exercise, golf, and playing the trumpet.
