Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary: The  Pharmacy Technician performs day-to-day duties under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor in accordance with established pharmacy principles, policies, and procedures and/or law.


  • Data entry of patient/facility information and prescription/physician order order information and triage
  • Account of cycle and interim fills
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Receive and process refill requests and authorizations
  • Fill new orders and refills per client-specific packaging (i.e., medication boxes, multi-dose strips, blister cards, vials)
  • Compounding and IV Preparations
  • Prepare daily medications and records for delivery
  • Staging items for delivery
  • Fill pre-drawn insulin syringes
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Pharmacy Technician experience servicing long-term care facilities preferred


  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent

Professional Licenses/Certifications: 

  • CPhT preferred

Physical Job Requirements: 

  • Sitting and/or standing for up to 10 hours/day
  • Walking or being able to get around the pharmacy to fulfill job duties within an efficient time
  • Having a range of motion from kneeling to bending over to raising arms above head to retrieve stock
  • Able to type/input on a computer
  • Lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds
  • Reading fine and/or small print
  • Working off a computer screen for up to 10 hours/day

Work Status: 

  • Full Time
    • Monday-Friday 8:00am-7:30pm
    • Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm unless otherwise specified
